William Picklefingers was a legend in his own brine. Once upon a time, William burned his hands on a wood stove and then stuck them in a jar of pickles (given to him by a thoughtful, but evil, wizard neighbor) for relief. It eased the pain, but when he pulled his hands out, he found that his fingers had turned into plump, juicy pickles. The rest of his life was a constant struggle to not eat his own delicious fingers.
