There’s no real plan when you have a rummage around Stanley Road Store. You might come in looking for a birthday present and leave with a lamp shaped like a pigeon. It happens. That’s the beauty of a good rummage. You never quite know what you’re going to find.We’re an independent shop in Brighton, packed with things made by artists, designers and makers from handmade homeware and unusual gifts to jewellery, clothing, artwork, ceramics, prints and plenty of things you probably didn’t know you needed until you saw them.And because our stock is always changing, there’s always something new to discover.
So, this month we thought we’d have a little rummage ourselves and pick out some of our favourite new finds from September.
Here’s what caught our eye…
1. The one you definitely don’t need
You definitely don’t need it. And that’s exactly the point.

3. The slightly bonkers one
Every Stanley Road Store rummage needs one.It’s unusual. It’s funny. It’s slightly bonkers. And frankly, that’s exactly why we like it.

We’ve just had a new collection of handmade glasswork from our wonderful EloySant, and we’re very into it.
Colourful, handmade and full of character, these are the sort of pieces that look even better when you see them in person.
6. Meet our newest stockist
We’re always on the lookout for new artists, makers and independent brands to bring into Stanley Road Store.
We love finding people who make things a little differently whether that means beautifully designed homeware, completely unexpected objects or artwork that makes you stop in your tracks.So this month, we’re very happy to introduce our newest stockist: Ted Hepenstal.
Ted creates quirky still-life artwork celebrating one of the great everyday kitchen classics: mayonnaise.
Yes. Mayonnaise.
His work is funny, colourful and instantly recognisable and we’re particularly enjoying having his prints in the shop.
7. Fresh from our makers
There’s always something happening behind the scenes at Stanley Road Store. New pieces are being made, reworked, stitched, printed and brought into the shop all the time.
